Cursor além do Código

A lot of people in the room were not programmers. Design, product, their own company. That was the point of the title. Cursor besides writing code.

White-collar work is mostly not the work. You get a Teams message, the doc needs a password, IT says open a ticket, then you spend the afternoon asking where the ticket site is. Five minutes becomes five hours. You're stressed and you delivered nothing. I was hired to do the spreadsheet, not to live in chat.

Starting a company, the same mess shows up as information spread everywhere. No flow. Just hunting.

That's where an agent is different from a chat box. Chat answers. An agent can read files, search the web, write the doc. If you skip context and a plan, you become the intern's babysitter.

I treated the agent like an intern. Give it a folder with the company stuff, even a fake one. Ask for a market brief: who we sell to, price, promise, proof, channel, competitors. Then make it split facts from guesses. If it says a competitor sells churros, where did that come from.

NordOps was the fixture. Not a real company. The brief landed in the repo as a file. Then /canvas on the same data, so you get a view you can send to someone without making them read a wall of markdown.

MCP is the other half. Copy-pasting every email into the chat is walking to the store because you didn't give the intern the car keys. Connect the tool and the agent goes there.

I also showed working from the phone. MCPs already connected. Looking for an apartment. A trip where we were in an Uber to a client and the work happened on the phone.

Automate the boring stuff, but only until it's cheap when it breaks.

If you already write code in Cursor, cool. The talk was the other half. Context, a plan, tools, and a check. Same loop for a brief, a canvas, whatever the next event needs.
